Dana, what IS an ohana?

What's an ohana? I'm glad you asked!

The Hawaiian word "ohana" literally means "extended family."
The real estate word "ohana" means "quarters for extended family"... like an "in-law quarters."

This little blog will show you what the ohana looks like (for those of you who haven't visited yet) and will share many of the projects I'm doing to make the ohana -- and your stay in the ohana -- as aloha as possible.

For starters, the ohana is a one-bedroom apartment with a full bath and full kitchen. It's downstairs from the main house and you have your own lanai. You can come and go from a separate entrance without going through the main house.
